210 Google Links In A Few Days!!
This is an update, a few days later, to the post made about my quest to conquer Google for ' paper gifts for first anniversary '. Those of you who have been following this blog will know that I conducted a live experiment on Sunday, effectively picking a search term ( paper gifts for first anniversary ), creating a blog and then adding those feeds to various aggregators. That's the main reason for this post because I have again checked activity this morning and I was again ASTOUNDED to find I now had 210 links listed in Google!! Do you know hard it is to get Google links? This bodes very well for the future, as even though the top spot I gained yesterday has 'bounced', I expect to fill the top positions without too much more work at all. With all those links pointing at my pages, I can't fail. For doubting Thomas, here's the proof:

I know 210 of these 211 links point to one of my pages, or a page that contains a link to one of my pages, because as part of my set up test I carried out the same search and there was only ONE link listed. I have disclosed the EXACT steps taken to achieve this result, including making another short post about my new paper gifts for first anniversary blog at my poetry site. That's why I need to change a few tactics to achieve the desired result (don't worry, I will share with you the EXACT steps, no cloaks, no daggers). If you haven't done so already, you should read all the posts in the No 1 in 48 hours category to get a thorough understanding of the steps I'm taking here. Because, here's what I have done so far:
1. I have created a blog that focuses on a funny 50th birthday poem.
2. I have also created a page on my site that displays another funny 50th birthday poem. This page will be my 'money' page, with the eventual aim of getting THIS page to the number 1 slot.
3. I have also made sure that my technorati tags for a funny 50th birthday poem are also in place. I teach more about technorati here.
4. I have made one post on another blog (this one) referencing all three links (including technorati) and I will make similar (but not identical) posts on 4 of my other blogs, 2 of which are blogger blogs.
5. Other than that I have made sure that both the pages that I have created link to each other.
6. Oops! Nearly forgot. Submitted these five feeds to my favorite RSS aggregators.

That's it. Quite exciting really!! I have just done a quick check and none of my sites are listed on pages 1 or 2. (Gee! I've been sloppy in the past). Let's see what happens in the coming week. Time will tell….
