Simpy And The No Follow Tag
There is a growing trend amongst social bookmarking sites to use 'No Follow' tags for your links. Basically the no follow tag removes the link love from your links and it is a deliberate strategy by the Social Bookmarking sites to stop people using their social bookmarks as a search engine optimization strategy. However, there is a way around all this. Here's what you do:
If you take one of my Simpy tags as an examples:
http://www.simpy.com/user/ajesson/tag/%22366%22
Now Simpy warn you when you sign up that they use no follow tags. However, if you click on the RSS icon you will be taken to this page:
http://www.simpy.com/rss/user/ajesson/links/%22366%22
Not a no follow in sight! So, simply (or simpy) submit these new feeds to the RSS Aggregators. Submit your new feed using http://allenkno.ws/and-recommends/RSS and you've just created a lot of link love to every one of your bookmarks/sites/twitters contained within the feed.
You can also get two feeds out of this one feed (see PS).
I also use http://allenkno.ws/and-recommends/RSS2. Don't be put off by the name, these guys know their stuff. I use both RSS submission services, usually alternating. Using either or both will create a lot of link love to your bookmarks. Do this to every one of your social bookmark pages and you are then starting to get serious….good luck! Let me know how you get on…
PS Another quick example:
http://www.simpy.com/user/ajesson/links
=
http://www.simpy.com/rss/user/ajesson/links/
AND
http://simpy.com/rss/user/ajesson/links/
Enough said?

There you have it. Of course, you can use this same tactic with any of your social bookmarking sites.
